BRICS 2026: New Delhi Declaration
BRICS Summit - September 11 - 13, 2026, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India
Executive Summary & Highlights
14 September 2026 | From the Chairman
Executive Summary
The 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi (12–13 September 2026), hosted under India’s chairship, delivered a unanimous New Delhi Declaration focused on economic development, inclusive growth, equal representation, and the practical removal of trade, payment, and financial barriers.
BRICS advanced practical interoperability among national systems—including local-currency settlement, digital public infrastructure, and MSME and women-led enterprise tools—without pursuing a common currency or an ideological de-dollarization agenda. Dialogue and mutual understanding were positioned as the primary means of addressing disruptions caused by conflict, unilateral measures, or sanctions, with emphasis on preserving lives, assets, nature, and growth opportunities rather than military or bloc confrontation.
India played a central bridging role within the Global South platform, advancing economic and institutional priorities while managing key bilateral relationships with discretion and strategic alignment. These outcomes reinforce the Chamber’s own culture: selective, merit-based partnership defined by a partner’s stated needs for collaboration, growth, and development—not solicitation or subscription models.
